Our friends at Alternatives North are joining in the National Day of Action!

Alberta's Bill 11 takes effect September 1. The legislation opens the door to two-tier, American-style health care — the biggest threat to Canada's public health care system we’ve ever seen. But in nearly 8 months since this legislation passed, we have seen NO action from the federal government to protect patients and our health care systems against this egregious violation of the Canada Health Act.

That's why health and social justice coalitions across Canada are coordinating a National Day of Action for Public Health Care on September 1, 2026. Join Alternatives North for a lunch-hour info picket in YELLOWKNIFE to demand urgent action from the Federal Government and Yellowknife MP, Rebecca Alty, to enforce the Canada Health Act and save public health care!
