Since January 1st, 2016, we have lost a devastating 2,026 friends, family, and loved ones; we have buried our children, siblings, and parents over what can only be described as a crisis of misaligned drug policy. We are deeply concerned about the potential closure of supervised consumption services and call upon every Albertan to lend their support for these life-saving programs. Failure to maintain and build on the tireless efforts of harm reduction initiatives in this process will only lead to further inequity, harm, and deaths.
Join Friends of Medicare and Albertans for Ethical Drug Policy at a lunchtime legislature rally as we call on the government to support supervised consumption sites and other evidence-based harm reduction initiatives in our province.
