Why Public Seniors Care Matters

Join us for a free event to discuss issues around long-term care in Alberta. We will focus on research from the University of Alberta's Parkland Institute and their recent "Losing Ground" report which takes a look at how public, private-for-profit and private-not-for-profit delivery models compare in providing care for those who need it.

After the presentation there will be question and answer and discussion on what we can do to fix the system. To start, we're asking people to download, print out, and sign our petitionwhich calls on the provincial government to open at least 2,000 public long-term care spaces and end the practice of approving private spaces.

This is event five of five of our province-wide tour. People in the area are encouraged to attend. We will also be in Hinton the night before on December 1. Please share with anyone you think may be interested.

Speakers include:

Marle Roberts, President of CUPE Alberta

Sandra Azocar, Executive Director of Friends of Medicare
