Touring with CUPE Alberta to Stop Long-Term Care Privatization
WHY PUBLIC LONG-TERM CARE MATTERS
Friends of Medicare are partnering with CUPE Alberta for a tour through the province highlighting issues in Long-Term Care.
A recent report from the Parkland Institute titled "Losing Ground" has provided evidence of the importance of public care and why privatization should be stopped.
You're invited to join us from November 28 to December 2 with details below:
All meetings begin at 7:00 pm:
After the presentation there will be question and answer and discussion on how we can work together to improve the system.
As a start you can download our petition which calls on the Alberta government to build at least 2,000 public long-term care spaces and end the practice of approving new private facilities. Print it out and get as many signatures as you can and then send it to us before March 2017.
Our members and the public in the surrounding areas are encouraged to join us at each event. Please share with people who would be interested.
Please contact us at 780-423-4581 or fomcampaign@gmail.com if you have any questions. We hope to see you there!
