You’re invited to join us in Edmonton for a free Town Hall event aimed at discussing barriers to health care for trans and gender-expansive patients, and taking action to break them down!
Our health care system should provide equal access for all patients. Alberta trans advocates have pointed to unequal wait times to hormone replacement therapy as a barrier for mental and physical well being. Friends of Medicare are supporting their calls to remove barriers, and are hosting this event to highlight the issues and call for action from the Alberta Government.
Speakers include Dr. Andrea Szewchuk from Vancouver, and Alberta trans advocates Amelia Marie Newbert and Valerie Keefe.
With introductions by Friends of Medicare Executive Director Sandra Azocar.
There will be time after the speakers for discussion.
Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
Bus tickets available on request for low income attendees.
