Private Clinics Town Hall - Edmonton

Private Clinics: Problem or Solution to Accessing Health Care in Alberta (Edmonton)

Join us for a free, public town hall event to discuss issues related to the privatization of healthcare. We will focus on research from the University of Alberta's Parkland Institute and their recent "Blurred Lines" report which takes a look at the proliferation of private membership clinics across Alberta, which charge annual membership fees for combined physician and complementary practitioner care.

Speakers include:
Dr. Rebecca Graff-McRae, Research Manager at Parkland Institute, and author of "Blurred Lines: Private Membership Clinics and Public Health Care"
Natalie Mehra, Executive Director of the Ontario Health Coalition
Sandra Azocar, Executive Director of Friends of Medicare
There will be time following the speakers for questions and discussion.
The event is free and open to the public. We are in the Large Auditorium of the Central Lions Recreation Centre. Doors open at 6:15 with the event starting at 6:30 pm. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
The Facebook event can be found here.

This is the final event of four in our provincial tour. We will also be in Lethbridge on April 23, Medicine Hat on April 24, and Calgary on April 25. Please share with anyone you think may be interested!
